Chapter One: Meet Viola

I awoke from a long slumber. It was 4:35 AM. I had seen a horrid thing. A horrid being...This  vision took place in the Vix Quadrant on Mercury in the Omega Galaxy... The third and far less important place in the entire world. It withheld Mercury,Venus, and Earth. Then, there is the Beta Galaxy, which has the planets; Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. Lastly we have the Alpha Galaxy , the most important galaxy of them all. The Alpha Galaxy, is home to Uranus and Neptune, as well as Atonium, the newest discovered planet.
I'm from Neptune, the coldest planet. Yes, quite ridiculous that I'm from Neptune but it's true. What had happened in my vision was Calix, the dictator of Mars, had told me that he knew where I was and that he was coming for me. My visions always come true, every time. However, this was not my first encounter with the one named Calix. He was a staggering 6'8, towering over everyone. Calix had antennas that were comparable to that of an ant.He had long skinny legs and a menacing look to him. So bad that you'd look down when passing him because he was so frightening. His anatomy also comparable to that of an ant. But he looked big and powerful like a bodybuilder.

When I was younger he took my parents Amethyst and Dashiel Winters. A couple that was oh so very important to the government of Neptune, you see, my family is like no other Neptunian  family. We're all gifted with some type of power; no one else that we know of has powers at all.
My mother and father have always had these powers, its hereditary on my father's side and my mother just had the powers since she was born. Nobody in her family has such a thing. My mother is one with nature; she can talk to plants and animals and just naturally has a green thumb and a motherly warmth, my father is a genius; he can solve any mathematical problem and solve any scientific theory and is freaky genius with all technology and is just a natural scholar.

My fathers mother, Evangeline, can sense when someone close to her is feeling any unwanted feeling. Such as; being scared, sad, depressed, etc. Her husband, Orion is a natural astrologist. He knows every constellation by heart like he knows the back of his hand. Then me, I have visions, if you couldn't already tell. Since the Neptunian government has found this out we've become valuable aliens. That is why Calix took my parents, because of their gifts. My parents have been gone for five whole years and the authorities of Neptune have never stopped searching. Whenever we're one step away to getting my parents back, he's already gone. Ever since they've been kidnapped I've been hoping for a vision telling me that they'll be back soon... and I haven't stopped hoping for that.

I sat up in my bed thinking about my parents as well as being quite shocked and speechless. Just then, my grandmother walked in. Ever since the day of my parents being gone, I've lived on Earth with my grandparents...She sat on my bed with me and held me close like I was a child again.
"Viola darling...you can figure a plan out. You always do. You're gifted in more than just one way, you just don't know how yet. Just let those gifts appear to you like how your gift of visions did...Now Viola, let me make you a nice cup of Lotus Moon tea and we can relax and figure this situation out, alright?"
"Yes grandma...thank you." I replied quietly with my hands slightly shaking.

Grandma looked at me sympathetically and smiled, trying to reassure me. Then she swiftly left to go to the kitchen. I sat in thought with an eerie quiet lurking. My mind was dysfunctional, it probably wouldn't even work if you offered me tens of  thousands of Venus Macaroons. Oh those are so good, I could totally go for some right now...Then my grandmother walked back in.

"I was thinking sweetie, remember when you were sent here on the 'Stellar Luxury Vacation Space rocket'? I remember you were 12 when everything happened with your parents. Then you were sent here to assure your safety... I also recall you not knowing what to even expect here on Earth. How did you coupe with that feeling of 'not knowing'?" Grandma asked, although she was knowing of my answer.
I half smiled and whispered shyly, " I remembered the happy times with my parents to get me through..."
"Exactly dear, now tell me what you should do?"
"Think happy thoughts"
"Perfection! Remember my saying-"
Then in unison, "Happiness is the key to everything"
Then we giggled in a hushed tone. "That is what I thought when the Intergalactic War was going on. It got me through it, didn't it?"
"Yes Grandma...thank you I love you, so much."
"I love you too my little moon flower. Now get some sleep. Goodnight. Get as much sleep as you can wouldn't want your friends worrying now would you?" Then she left my room.
"Yeah except I don't have any friends because of what I am and I don't want them in danger because of me." I said aloud. "That is why I don't have any friends. Why I'm alone all the time. I don't want to endanger anyone..." I laid back down. While trying to sleep the war kept intruding my thoughts. From what I learned at school, the intergalactic war was truly gruesome.

With newest technology that was introduced, many people were kidnapped and tortured. Some even killed in the process. This war was between aliens and humans, as well as humanoid aliens, like me. Basically; every intergalactic race that ever existed. The meta-people, mutant aliens, and many more. The war started out as just for territory, but it somehow warped into a war about racism. People called the Meta-people harsh names, like metamorphosis gone wrong, anything you could possibly imagine. There was always some type of name-calling and seclusion of races, hurting of races- it was horrendous.
Soon my people were targeted. All we wanted was peace, order and tranquility; but we were pushed into the war. Everybody fought in that war, women, men, teens...pretty much anyone who could learn how to operate a laser gun. We were in a post-apocalyptic world. My grandparents fought in that world, survived in that world. In fact, that is how they met. They were in the same squadron- they always fought long side each other in the eight years the war went on. They fell in love and when the war was finally over, they got married.

Eventually, the resolution of the war was different 'galaxies' for all planets and quadrants for the different races. More or less like ghettos, all the planets, with the exception of Earth, have segregation still. Earth is one of the best planets there is. I'm not entirely sure why it is in the Omega Galaxy. I never knew why... Soon enough, after nearly an hour of me contemplating things, I decided to get ready for school. I wore my usual. Jeans, a tee shirt (which usually had my favorite band, 17 days on Venus on it, or it was just a plain black, navy blue or camo green tee), my favorite grey hoodie that I just adore; It's warm like a heated blanket on low and cozy and familiar like a favorite childhood toy, and lastly my black converse, or depending on the weather, black boots. I finished getting dressed and then brushed my hair, and proceeded to go downstairs. My grandmother hugged me as did my grandfather. I felt happy and secure, as well as feeling filled to the brim with love.
"The shoppe is getting a shipment of Venus Macaroons today. Want me to pick some up?" My grandfather asked.
"YES! Yes please!?"
My grandfather then chuckled, "Okay Miss Macaroon queen." I laughed and the group embrace was over.
I told my grandparents I loved them, grabbed a to-go orange juice and a piece of toast and got on my aquamarine hover board that had stickers all over it. Then I was off to school.

                                                                                      ****
I had finished my quick breakfast just as I was approaching my school. I got off my hover board and rushed inside. I had to be sure I wasn't late again or I'd get a detention. I have a bad habit of being tardy... I hurried to my locker to get all my textbooks and put my board away. I glanced at the digital clock, and I had exactly one minute to get to my first period class. I ran as fast as I could. Then just as the bell rang I was safely inside the classroom.
Mrs. Yits smiled at me and said "You're not late."
I returned the smile and got into my seat. I sighed in relief and got out my Environmental Sciences Book. We were studying the habitat of Earth and what it was like in 2015. Wow..that is SUCH a LONG time ago, approximately 1,986 years ago. Its 4001 now. Wow. I can't imagine what it would be like then. Strange weather patterns, being in a recession, absolutely NO HOVER BOARDS?!? Wow. And ACTUAL textbooks, not like the holographic textbooks we have today.
After class, I was stopped in the hallway by Cyprian.

"Hi Viola!" Cyprian greeted. I looked at him and we held a gaze for a moment, then I looked away and started running off.  "Viola! Wait! Can't you talk to somebody?!" Then Cyprian started running after me.

"Crap!" I said under my breath. I ran faster and faster. I've kind of had this major crush on him since he came to this school a few months ago. But, I can't get close to him, I can't get close to anybody. More now than ever since apparently Calix is after me and now knows where I reside...then out of nowhere I tripped over my own two feet and fell. Before I could get up and run Cyprian was over me holding his hand out for me to grab. I was debating on whether I should just get up and run without a word, or take his hand and risk talking to him.
